Jackie O’s Prodigality is a barleywine style ale aged in bourbon barrels and conditioned on maple syrup. Clocking in at 15.6% ABV and contained within a 12 fl. oz. bottle, this substantial brew features a complex flavor profile born from a unique process. The mash utilizes Maris Otter grain, and a long soak is followed by boiling a portion of the first runnings to trigger the Maillard reaction, contributing to a deeper color and flavor. It then undergoes 38 months of bourbon barrel conditioning and is finished with maple syrup, wildflower honey, and candied walnuts, resulting in luxurious notes of burnt sugar, sweet prune, oak, leather, and an earthy nuttiness.
