The News

Barcelona Cocktail Fest (BCF) has revealed its 2026 programme, set for 18–19 April at Palo Alto in Poblenou, Barcelona. The event will feature pop-ups, seminars, and workshops, with a focus on sustainability through partnerships like the Sustainable Restaurant Association. The festival aims to bring together global bartenders, local communities, and families under the theme “FutureProof – Reimagining the Industry for What Comes Next.”

The Takeaway

  • Industry Collaboration: The festival is partnering with The Sustainable Restaurant Association (SRA) for actionable sustainability discussions, which could influence how spirits brands approach eco-friendly practices. This collaboration brings a more grounded perspective on environmental responsibility in the drinks industry.

  • City-Wide Activation: Barcelona Cocktail Fest 2026 will use pop-ups and local partnerships to build up to its main event at Palo Alto, creating a broader cultural impact that extends beyond just the festival weekend. This approach could inspire other cities to adopt similar models for immersive beverage experiences.

  • Future-Forward Programming: With Giacomo Giannotti curating the event under the theme “FutureProof – Reimagining the Industry for What Comes Next,” the focus is on practical, actionable ideas that bartenders and brands can implement. This aligns with a growing trend in the spirits industry to move beyond trends and toward real, scalable solutions.

Original Press Release

Pop-ups, brand partners, seminars and workshops confirmed for Palo Alto, 18–19 April 2026

Barcelona Cocktail Fest (BCF) has announced the next stage of its 2026 programme, confirming a two-day festival at Palo Alto, Poblenou, Barcelona on 18–19 April 2026. The summit expands the format into a broader, city-connected platform that welcomes the international bar industry alongside Spain's hospitality network and local communities.

Across the wider festival week, BCF will activate Barcelona through pop-ups and collaborations, building towards the weekend hub at Palo Alto, a creative venue designed for indoor and outdoor programming.

Guided by the 2026 theme “FutureProof – Reimagining the Industry for What Comes Next,” BCF is designed to move beyond headline moments and into practical ideas that operators, bartenders and brands can take back to their venues. The programme is curated by Giacomo Giannotti, founder of Paradiso, with panels shaped in collaboration with The Sustainable Restaurant Association (SRA) to keep the agenda grounded in actionable progress.

“Barcelona Cocktail Fest is about building what comes next, together,” said Giacomo Giannotti. “We’re keeping the craft and community spirit people love, and opening the experience to more voices from Barcelona and beyond—industry, locals, and families alike.”

The Palo Alto experience

Over two days, BCF will turn Palo Alto into a city-scale showcase of contemporary drinks culture, blending guest bar pop-ups with tastings, masterclasses and brand discovery. Visitors will be able to move between signature-serve tasting counters, education-led sessions that unpack technique, flavour and trend, and premium brand showcases designed to take guests from insight to liquid-to-lips in the same space.

The format also prioritises connection, with dedicated networking areas for founders, operators and key opinion leaders, alongside live DJs and a curated selection of food trucks to maintain the pace across the weekend.

Seminars and workshops: FutureProof in practice

Barcelona Cocktail Fest has also announced the international speaker lineup for FutureProof panels: Reimagining the Industry for What Comes Next, a two-day programme of talks, live tastings and honest conversations. Hear from an international lineup of industry trailblazers including Charlotte Voisey (Tales of the Cocktail Foundation), Simone Caporale (SIPS, Barcelona), Juliane Caillouette Noble (Sustainable Restaurant Association), Vijay Mudaliar (Native, Singapore), Jean Trinh (Alquimico, Cartagena), and Roberta Mariani (ItalSpirits), alongside local Barcelona voices.

From a live blind tasting challenging whether sustainable cocktails can outperform the classics, to panels on the next generation of bars and bartenders shaping the industry; an exploration of whether AI can genuinely serve hospitality—cutting waste, optimising menus and advancing sustainability without losing the human touch—and an intimate closing conversation about building a career that truly lasts.

With speakers confirmed from across four continents, FutureProof brings together the people who are not just reacting to a changing world, but shaping it.

Pop-ups and brand partnership: an international line-up

BCF’s bar programme brings together leading venues and teams, with headline pop-ups across both days, from award-winning bars including Himkok (Oslo), Native (Singapore), Alquímico (Cartagena), Röda Huset (Stockholm), Angelita (Madrid) and Drink Kong (Rome).

Additional participating bars include De Vie, Locale Firenze, The Bar in Front of the Bar, and Lady Bee, reinforcing the festival’s intent to pair global names with a programme that still feels rooted in the city’s own hospitality identity.

Brand partners and industry involvement

BCF 2026 is being developed and produced in partnership between Giacomo Giannotti and ItalSpirits, by Giuseppe Gallo, combining Giannotti’s bar-led creative direction with a wider programme of city-wide trade programming and brand activations across festival week.

The 2026 edition is supported by industry partners including Bacardi Martini, Torres Brandy, Maison Perrier, Altamura Distilleries, Savoia Vino Aperitivo, Italicus Rosolio di Bergamotto and Arbike Distillery, plus many more. Hilton Diagonal Mar Barcelona, with its strong focus on sustainability that aligns with the festival’s core values, will be the official hotel partner and, just a short walk from the festival, will ensure a comfortable and convenient stay for those choosing to stay there throughout the event.

Giuseppe Gallo added: “Barcelona has always had a rare mix of creativity and hospitality, and BCF is a chance to channel that into a festival format that will build a direct link and conversation between trade and consumers. With this international line-up, we created an innovation and educational programme and, moreover, unforgettable brand experiences, while keeping Barcelona’s cocktail culture at the centre of the story.”

BCF will welcome Tales of the Cocktail (TOTC) Executive Director Charlotte Voisey, as well as Paul Clarke, Imbibe’s Executive Editor, confirmed as a global media partner for the festival—positioning Barcelona Cocktail Fest 2026 as a truly global meeting point for bar talent, ideas and future-facing hospitality.
