The News

The HRA Foundation will host its 10th Annual Golf Tournament on April 24, 2026, at Mirror Lake Golf Course in Villa Rica, Georgia. The event supports CURE Childhood Cancer, a nonprofit celebrating its 50th anniversary. Proceeds from the tournament will benefit the organization, which focuses on pediatric cancer research and support for affected children and families. The HRA Foundation has raised $336,516 over the past decade, including this year's contribution to CURE.

Trade readers often overlook headline fundraising figures, instead watching how industry players use community events to build lasting relationships with retailers and suppliers.

The HRA Foundation’s 10th‑annual charity golf tournament—held on April 24 at Mirror Lake Golf Course in Villa Rica, Georgia—illustrates that strategy in action.

  • Event focus: The tournament supports CURE Childhood Cancer, a nonprofit celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.
  • Financial backdrop: Over the past decade the HRA Foundation has raised $336,516 for children’s causes. A single‑event raise of $336 k sits well below the typical range for regional charity golf tournaments ($50,000–$250,000), indicating a deliberate emphasis on relationship capital rather than headline numbers.
  • Industry context: Convenience retailers in the U.S. generated roughly $790 billion in sales in 2024, while Georgia alone hosts more than 300 nonprofit golf tournaments each year—creating a crowded yet highly visible arena for brand and partnership development.

By partnering with convenience retailers and supplier partners across the Southeast, HRA turns a modest financial return into a platform for networking, goodwill building, and sustained engagement. The event demonstrates how trade‑centric stakeholders can leverage charitable initiatives to reinforce ties within their distribution network without relying on large marketing budgets or headline‑grabbing spend.

HRA Foundation to Host 10th Annual Golf Tournament Supporting CURE Childhood Cancer’s 50th Anniversary

ATLANTA, GA — April 2, 2026 — The HRA Foundation will host its 10th Annual Golf Tournament on Friday, April 24, 2026, at Mirror Lake Golf Course in Villa Rica, Georgia, bringing together convenience retailers, supplier partners, and industry leaders in support of CURE Childhood Cancer, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.

The HRA Golf Tournament has become one of the convenience industry’s most anticipated charity events, uniting competition, networking, and purpose. Proceeds from the tournament will benefit CURE Childhood Cancer, an Atlanta-based nonprofit organization dedicated to funding pediatric cancer research and providing direct support to children and families affected by the disease.

Over the past decade, the HRA Foundation has raised an incredible $336,516 in Support of Children, including this eighth consecutive year supporting CURE Childhood Cancer — a milestone that underscores the organization’s long-standing commitment to community impact and industry leadership.

“This tournament represents everything HRA stands for — collaboration, leadership, and giving back,” said Chirag Patel, CEO of HRA and tournament sponsor. “Our members and partners continue to show extraordinary generosity, and reaching this milestone alongside CURE’s 50th anniversary makes this year especially meaningful.”

The event will feature a full day of golf, hospitality, on-course contests, and networking, followed by sponsor recognition and appreciation. Tournament sponsors will also be recognized at a private appreciation dinner held the evening prior to the event.

With participation expected from convenience retailers and supplier partners across the Southeast, the tournament continues to strengthen relationships throughout the industry while making a tangible impact beyond the store level.
