Original Press Release

Athletic Brewing Company, America's largest dedicated non-alcoholic brewer, is celebrating Earth Month with the launch of the "Our Brews Give Back" campaign, highlighting its Two For The Trails environmental grant program.

At the center of the month-long effort is Two For The Trails Milestone Edition IPA, a limited-time offering crafted to celebrate Athletic Brewing's namesake trail restoration program and the outdoor spaces it helps protect. The release reflects Athletic Brewing's ongoing commitment to protecting and restoring the outdoors. It is brewed with 100% Proximity ReGenMalt™ barley and hop varieties from the Hopsteiner Breeding Program, which have a significantly lower carbon footprint when compared to other varieties. With each sip, the brew serves as a reminder to step out and see where your trail leads.

"The trails, parks, and waterways we rely on don't preserve themselves," said Athletic Brewing Co-Founder and CEO Bill Shufelt. "Two For The Trails is our commitment to protecting access to the outdoors, because if we're not actively giving back, we risk losing the very places and experiences that bring us together."

More than a limited release, the "Our Brews Give Back" campaign serves as a toast to trail restoration, marking the evolution of Two For The Trails from a simple tradition into one of the most impactful environmental initiatives in the craft brewing industry.

Launched in 2018 with a $6,000 contribution to a single partner, Two For The Trails has grown into the largest annual environmental grant program in the craft brewing industry, now giving back up to $2 million annually to support conservation and outdoor access initiatives while prioritizing sustainable, low-impact, and regenerative practices whenever possible. To date, the program has:

Invested $8.4 million in trail and outdoor projects
Supported 500+ grant recipients
Funded work across 46 U.S. states and 3 countries

In tandem with the launch of Two For The Trails Milestone Edition IPA, Athletic has teamed up with AllTrails, the world's largest digital trail guide, to launch the Two For The Trails Collection — a curated set of trails across the U.S., highlighting areas supported by Athletic Brewing's grant funding. The collaboration connects consumers directly to the places their support helps protect, reinforcing the brand's mission to keep the outdoors adventure-ready.

Additional Earth Month initiatives include national retail programming and limited-edition merchandise designed for trail-ready performance and everyday exploration.

Established as a founding principle of Athletic Brewing and rooted in a simple tradition of bringing two brews along for the hike, Two For The Trails has grown into a global effort supporting conservation nonprofits and hands-on environmental work — from invasive species removal and habitat restoration to waterway cleanups and disaster recovery.

"Maintaining the outdoor spaces where we adventure isn't optional," added Co-Founder and COO John Walker. "Two For The Trails is how we put that belief into action, so every can of Athletic can be enjoyed in a world worth exploring."

Athletic Brewing is on track to surpass $10 million in total contributions by the end of 2026, further solidifying its leadership in environmental stewardship.
