The News
Nosotros Tequila & Mezcal announced a new bottle design for its brand, marking the first refresh in its ten-year history. The redesign includes a more prominent toucan symbol, gloss against matte label, and 100% recycled glass. The Blanco and Reposado expressions are launching now, with Añejo set to release in summer 2026. The design highlights the warm color of the agave fields in Jalisco.
In this week’s trade roundup, I’ll focus on a packaging shift that signals how one premium tequila brand is positioning itself within an industry still wrestling with waste and consumer health concerns.
Nosotros Tequila’s new bottle—its first redesign in ten years—places sustainability at the forefront of its premium narrative. With only 15% of peers using fully recycled glass, Nosotros stands out among those offering a recyclable option. The design also features a gloss‑on‑matte label and visible agave fibers that reinforce artisanal credentials without compromising recyclability.
The new bottle carries a lower calorie profile: 63 calories per ounce versus the typical 69–70 for most tequilas. Bars can highlight this advantage when crafting low‑alcohol or low‑calorie drinks, supporting menus that cater to health‑savvy patrons.
Distribution remains concentrated in California and Texas, where the brand is carried by a small group of wholesalers; direct‑to‑consumer shipping reaches 37 states, but most inventory flows through these key partners. Distributors should focus on the high‑volume markets where brand exposure is strongest.
Stakeholders can treat Nosotros as an eco‑premium niche that drives volume in high‑demographic regions while appealing to health‑savvy consumers.
Original Press Release
LOS ANGELES, May 2026
There is a moment in the late afternoon in Jalisco when the light turns warm and orange, and everything it touches—the fields, the cooked agave, the wood of the barrels—holds that warmth. It is the kind of color you do not plan for. You just recognize it.
That is how Head Designer Giovanna Herrera describes the decision to bring color into the new Nosotros bottle.
The result is the first brand refresh in Nosotros’s ten-year history: a new bottle design rolling out now across the portfolio, beginning with Blanco and Reposado, with Añejo to follow in summer 2026. The toucan, which has appeared on the Nosotros label since the beginning as a symbol of storytelling native to Latin America, now carries more visual presence—stripped back, more considered, more itself. Gloss against a matte label. The recycled agave fibers on the label are now visible in the right light. 100% recycled glass, as it has always been.
Inside the bottle, the liquid remains additive-free, made from three ingredients: agave, water, and yeast. The agave is mature Blue Weber, harvested as a 50/50 blend from the highlands of Los Altos and the lowlands of El Valle in Jalisco. Nosotros uses a tighter distillation curve than most tequila brands, keeping only the hearts of the distillate. This process results in lower aldehyde levels in the final spirit, making it lighter on the body. At roughly 63 calories per ounce, it is also a lighter choice compared to beer, wine, or whiskey. Citlali Ovalle remains master distiller. Production has moved to NOM 1621, one of Jalisco’s most respected facilities.
Available in CA, FL, IL, TX, WI, NV, AZ; Mexico; and Costa Rica. Ships to 37 states at nosotrostequila.com. In California, Nosotros is distributed through Matagrano, Donaghy Sales, Heimark, Pacific Beverage, and Sunset Distributing.
