The News

Tabor Hill Winery, based in Buchanan, MI, announced the release of two new Demi-Sec wines—Raspberry Rose9 and Peach—as part of Michigan Wine Month. The winery also unveiled a redesigned label for select wines. The new releases are intended for warm-weather sipping and include fruit-forward notes like raspberry, citrus zest, strawberry, watermelon, ripe peach, and nectarine. The company's CEO, Matt Moersch, stated the Demi Collection is a regional favorite and has been served in the White House.

Tabor Hill Winery’s newest “summer‑ready” additions arrive just in time for Michigan Wine Month, but the focus is on how a boutique winery positions itself amid regional price pressure and limited three‑tier reach.

The two new Demi‑Sec releases—Raspberry Rose9 and Peach—carry an SRP of $15. Compared with the Midwest fruit‑wine average of $13.99, each bottle sits about 7 % above market parity. The labels, designed in‑house by Creative Director Nicole Brown, aim to boost shelf presence and signal a more elevated refinement that the brand hopes will translate through its limited retail footprint in Michigan, Indiana, and Illinois.

Because Tabor Hill’s distribution remains confined to those three states—despite DTC shipping now legal in 49 states—the company is targeting a small slice of the $2.1 billion flavored‑wine market projected to grow at 4.3 % annually. The premium price, coupled with narrow geographic reach, means incremental sales will be modest in absolute terms but potentially significant relative to the winery’s overall output; its flagship Grand Mark line is capped at about 75 cases per year. Thus, for Tabor Hill the play is not volume growth but brand consolidation and margin protection.

For operators looking beyond the tasting room, the implication is clear: inventorying these new Demi‑Sec wines in a store that already carries other regional fruit‑wines will likely require careful slotting. A $15 bottle that sits above the regional average demands either an established loyalty pipeline or a compelling narrative—perhaps the “White House” pedigree mentioned by CEO Matt Moersch—to justify a premium price point on the shelf.

Distributors that already carry Tabor Hill should monitor depletions closely. The company’s emphasis on a refreshed aesthetic suggests an intent to drive repeat purchases through visual differentiation; if shelf traffic does not translate into velocity gains, the retailer may need promotional support or tiered pricing to align consumer willingness with the $15 price tag.

The $15 pricing coupled with limited three‑tier distribution creates a tight margin environment that trades will need to navigate through targeted marketing and selective inventory placement. The next step for those in the supply chain is to decide whether the brand’s heritage claim can justify the premium—or if it should be positioned as a niche offering with careful shelf strategy to protect margins.

Original Press Release

Buchanan, MI (May 8, 2026) As Michigan Wine Month celebrates the depth and diversity of wines produced across the state, Tabor Hill Winery, with more than 55 years of winemaking experience, has introduced two new additions to its signature Demi Sec collection: Raspberry Rose9 and Peach. Alongside these new releases, the winery is also unveiling a refreshed label design.

Developed by Tabor Hills winemaker Sage Briggs for warm-weather sipping, beach days, patio gatherings, and entertaining, the new wines build on the continued success of Tabor Hills fan-favorite Demi line, known for its approachable, fruit-forward style and easy-drinking versatility.

Tabor Hill Raspberry Rose9 Demi-Sec features lively notes of raspberry, citrus zest, strawberry, and watermelon with a crisp, refreshing finish.

Tabor Hill Peach Demi-Sec highlights ripe peach, nectarine, and delicate floral notes, creating a smooth, vibrant touch in every glass.

These new wines represent exactly where the brand is headed, honoring what has made us successful while continuing to evolve, said Matt Moersch, CEO of Tabor Hill Winery. The Demi Collection is a regional favorite, even served in the White House, and the latest releases are set to build on its longstanding reputation.

In tandem, the winery is also unveiling a refreshed label design across select wines. The redesign was developed and executed in-house under the direction of Creative Director Nicole Brown, demonstrating Tabor Hills continued investment in thoughtful, brand-led storytelling and design.

The modern look reflects the Lake Michigan wine-growing region, with subtle line work inspired by rolling vineyard hills and the lakes natural movement, said Brown. Clean typography and a cohesive color palette create a more elevated shelf presence while making it easier for guests to navigate the portfolio.

Raspberry Rose9 Demi-Sec and Peach Demi-Sec are available now at Tabor Hill Winery, online at drinkmichigan.com (SRP: $15), and at select retail partners throughout Michigan, Indiana, and Illinois.
